One of the rarest creatures in the realm is the Wereboar. It is much like its cousin the were-wolf, undergoing a complete physical transformation during the full moon. The natural form of the wereboar closely resembles a large hog while the full moon form It has coarse greasy matted hair, razor sharp tusks and a foul overpowering stench.
In its natural form, the wereboar likes to “root” for frogs and swamp rabbits in around the marshes. While not as terrifying as its transformed self, the natural form can still be dangerous even to larger animals such as deer and humans. Look for signs of recent digging or bare dirt and proceed cautiously in those areas.
Wereboar are so rare because few animals ever survive an attack by a wereboar to be transformed; the wereboar prefer to eat their victims entirely.
