Dryads

Dryads are guardians of the Forest realm and their power extends wherever trees are present in the Earthen realm. The genus Dryad covers a range of wood spirits, including nymphs. They love and care for the trees to which they were born. Some dryads, like the Hamadryad and Ent, merge wholly with their tree leaving them susceptible to attack and deeply suspicious of strangers. Other smaller species remain independent and can come and go from their tree to forage or defend the tree.

Of note – wherever the smaller Dryads are found, a larger Hamadryad is probably not far away; the smaller dryads will distract approaching strangers leaving the Hamadryad to deal a blow (often fatal) from a large branch.

Never approach large trees where smaller dryads are seen nearby.
