Fire Sprites

Fire Sprites are tiny fairy-like creatures that seem to be on fire or made of actual flames. Like the Will-O-the Wisp, Fire Sprites are ethereal creatures, and nearly impossible to catch. They tend to move slowly and are quite harmless when observed from afar. But if angered, they will swarm like hornets with extraordinary speed or will simply disappear.

Long ago, the Elves entrusted the secrets of fire to the Sprites on the understanding that they alone should possess this knowledge in the Earthen realm. However, Tim the Enchanter was able to obtain the secrets by casting a spell on one of the Sprites.. Shamed by this, the sprites have secluded themselves to one tiny area of the Sanctuary.

There appears to be an unexpected symbiotic relationship between the Fire Sprites and the Will o-the Wisp. While they happily cohabitate, they are highly explosive if they touch.
